Full rewires
Faulty electrics can be a potential fire hazard and can also lead to injury or electrocution. If you make significant alterations or additions to your home which in turn need electrical work, Part P building regulations come into force which means the wiring in the building needs to meet these standards. Alternatively, if a property is more than 25 years old it is also important to check that the current wiring is up to date especially if you are in the process of purchasing or you have lived somewhere for a while and what to change any of your current sockets or fittings.

Consumer unit replacement
Historically referred to as the ‘fuse-box’, a consumer unit is essentially the main control point for your property’s electrical supply. It consists of the main switch which turns your electricity off, RCDs which monitor the electricity and circuit breakers that turn themselves off automatically to protect electrical circuits from damage.
Consumer units can need replacing for various reasons, the main one being safety. Generally speaking, any consumer unit without an RCD should be upgraded but this doesn’t always mean a whole new unit and we can help and advise as to the best solution for your needs. If you have any new electrical work in your property, we will always carry out an inspection of the current unit and let you know if it is up to current standards or needs replacing. All our electrial contractors are fully qualified and aware of all regulations associated with replacing a consumer unit.
